As a Tribrid IEM with MEMS Solid State Driver, the Halcyon seamlessly integrates cutting-edge MEMS technology with dynamic and balanced armature units. Operating at ultrasonic speeds with near-zero phase distortion, the MEMS driver delivers lightning-fast transients and superior high-resolution audio. The Halcyon is one of the first in-ear monitors to implement a tribrid configuration utilizing cutting-edge solid-state MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology. MEMS is a solid-state speaker using silicon chips and passive components to generate a piezoelectric effect. Without traditional acoustic components such as coils and diaphragms, MEMS excels in speed and high-resolution performance, particularly in the ultra-treble frequencies. Combined with traditional balanced armature and dynamic drivers, Halcyon achieves one of the world’s first tribrid configurations to benefit from MEMS’ ultra resolution. Following Kiwi Ears' tonal philosophy, the Halcyon features an 8dB sub-bass shelf, precise 200Hz low-mid crossover, and a 3kHz treble peak for clear, detailed imaging and professional-grade layering.
